El quehacer local del Séptimo Arte correría la misma suerte que los grandes monopolios del entretenimiento audiovisual al experimentar nuevos retos en los modos de producción. En este sentido, la creación cinematográfica en Cuba no estuvo exenta de reinventarse en sus rutinas con las particularidades propias del contexto. A las carencias materiales que implica mantener la producción en un país subdesarrollado se sumaban la crisis desplegada por el coronavirus. Por otra parte, el cierre de las pocas salas de cine en funcionamiento motivaría a utilizar métodos de difusión que ya se venían empleando con los cambios en los hábitos de consumo. A partir de entonces las redes sociales servirían de intermediario entre el público y el audiovisual. Por lo anterior expuesto, el presente ensayo pretende analizar el panorama de la industria cinematográfica en la isla durante la pandemia, con el objetivo de abordar el contexto y desarrollo experimentado por el cine cubano.The emergence of Covid-19 imposed a global chal-lenge on the dynamics of human life. The local work of the Seventh Art would suffer the same fate as the great monopolies of audiovisual entertainment, expe-riencing new challenges in the modes of production. In this sense, filmmaking in Cuba was not exempt from reinventing itself in its routines with the particularities of the context. In addition to the material shortages in-volved in maintaining production in an underdeveloped country, there was the crisis caused by the coronavirus. On the other hand, the closure of the few cinemas in op-eration would motivate the use of methods of dissem-ination that were already being used with the chang-es in consumer habits. From then on, social networks would serve as an intermediary between the public and the audiovisual.
