The lifestyle that currently prevails in the world involves situations that favor unhealthy conditions, which in turn leads to causes of the increases in incidence and mortality. Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high concentration of glucose in the blood and since 2000 the number of people with diagnosed diabetes has increased exponentially. On the other hand, diabetes in Mexico has also involved a high economic cost. The National Institute of Public Health indicates that 4.7% of government spending goes to this area.
