Item type:Publication, El imperium: Suárez después de Aquino(2024)<jats:p>Con el objetivo de clarificar la mutua influencia de la razón y la voluntad en lo referente al imperium se examinaron exhaustivamente los textos de ambos autores (Suma Teológica y respectivo comentario de Suárez) y se concluyó lo siguiente. La articulación de los cuatro sentidos de causalidad, de raíz aristotélica, en el análisis de los actos voluntarios imperados, elaborado por el Aquino parece haber sido recibido por Suárez con importantes variantes. El imperium, acto de la razón práctica, que, en Tomás, es principalmente causativo de un orden a partir de la finalidad, objeto de la voluntad; y, secundariamente, expresivo de una volición; en Suárez es, principalmente, esto último. Así, este sentido locutivo del imperium de la razón termina por debilitarse frente al imperium de la voluntad, por cuyo carácter motor tiende, en Suárez, a ser identificado con el usus, pero no ya como ordenación al fin, sino como mera aplicación a la obra. En Suárez, el imperium de la razón llega una vez consumada la ejecución; y el imperium de la voluntad desaparece frente al usum. Item type:Publication, Individuo y comunidad en el pensamiento mítico(2022); In this article we establish that in mythical thought there is, as a natural quality, an expression of universality. Following Cassirer’s Philosophy of Symbolic Forms, we show that through the expressive function of myth it is possible to develop an expressive way of thinking or a pre-logical type of knowledge. We then propose an interpretation of Oedipus at Colonus in order to show that (i) it offers a plausible resource to relate the individual and the community, and (ii) that the framework in this tragedy works as a complex sign and symbolic path to delineate a form of expressive relationship through which it is possible to propose the unification of the individual with the community.10 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The Language of Nature and Artificial Intelligence in Patient CareGiven the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the conditions of vulnerability of large sectors of the population, the question emerges: what are the ethical limits of technologies in patient care? This paper examines this question in the light of the "language of nature" and of Aristotelian causal analysis, in particular the concept of means and ends. Thus, it is possible to point out the root of the distinction between the identity of the person and the entity of any technology. Nature indicates that the person is always an end in itself. Technology, on the contrary, should only be a means to serve the person. The diversity of their respective natures also explains why their respective agencies enjoy diverse scopes. Technological operations (artificial agency, artificial intelligence) find their meaning in the results obtained through them (poiesis). Moreover, the person is capable of actions whose purpose is precisely the action itself (praxis), in which personal agency and, ultimately, the person themselves, is irreplaceable. Forgetting the distinction between what, by nature, is an end and what can only be a means is equivalent to losing sight of the instrumental nature of AI and, therefore, its specific meaning: the greatest good of the patient. It is concluded that the language of nature serves as a filter that supports the effective subordination of the use of AI to its specific purpose, the human good. The greatest contribution of this work is to draw attention to the nature of the person and technology, and about their respective agencies. In other words: listening to the language of nature, and attending to the diverse nature of the person and technology, personal agency, and artificial agency.Scopus© Citations 2 1 36
