Industrial challenge: A facilities planning contest for IE students

Some chapters of the Institute of Industrial Engineers have developed a contest for IE undergraduate students where they can demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired in their courses. This contest is named: "Industrial Challenge: IIE's Region 13 Industrial Facilities Planning Contest". The objectives of this contest are to integrate the universities of IIE region 13, to promote teamwork between IE students, to propose challenges for working under pressure against time, to train in heuristic methodologies for facilities design, and to foster an identity spirit in IEs. The contest is described in detailed from its conception to its execution.
