Abstract
Background: H1N1 Influenza has several clinical patterns, from the autolimited flu-like symptomatology, to severe disease, characterized by acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, and progressive multiorgan failure. The objective of this work is to make an evidence based proposal about the molecular and inflammation similarities, and clinical presentation between the severe form of the H1N1 influenza, severe sepsis and septic shock. Clinic Case: Patient with pneumonia secondary to influenza virus AH1N1 infection which developed severe sepsis and septic shock. The patient was treated following the guidelines from the surviving sepsis campaing.
