The lifestyle that currently prevails in the world involves situations that favor unhealthy conditions, which in turn leads to causes of the increases in incidence and mortality. Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high concentration of glucose in the blood and since 2000 the number of people with diagnosed diabetes has increased exponentially. On the other hand, diabetes in Mexico has also involved a high economic cost. The National Institute of Public Health indicates that 4.7% of government spending goes to this area.

The main objective of this paper is to present an overview of the entrepreneurial process considered as one of the approaches that allows a comprehensive and rigorous approach to creating micro and small enterprises as well as their initial development in order to increase their chances of success and lessen the chances of premature failures. It also highlights the importance not only of conceiving the preparation of a plan but also its evolutionary process in which as it advances it will gradually be transformed from a fuzzy idea to a company in operation with the possibility of consolidation.

Without doubt, one of the main contributions made by Carlos Llano is the humanization of business. This may seem paradoxical due to the fact economic organizations are built and developed by human beings. However, precisely because it is so obvious, this humanistic view of business has been left out with dire consequences: A utilitarian and undignified use of people. Based on two of his writings, this article pretend to be a reflection on two of Carlos Llano's main ideas on this subject: Hospitality and friendship, thus rending homage to one of the pillars of "Universidad Panamericana".

When the term "intellectual capital" is used it frequently refers to a collection of intangible strategic aspects, which even if they without doubt contribute in generating business value, they nevertheless never appear in the financial statements. However, since intellectual capital is more and more considered as a key aspect in creating competitive sustainable and long term advantage, its efficient administration in companies and its study in the academic world have become increasingly relevant from the business management point of view. This article presents a general vision of the framework in which intellectual capital is inserted, its integrating elements with examples in hotel management in its different phases.
