The concept of hospitality is multifaceted and its essence is the care of others. Caring is not an accidental but a constitutive human activity. Hospitals are a place where one lives caring for others on a daily basis. In these institutions, caring guarantees human recovery and wellness. Hospitals do not only demand technical perfection, but also an ethical attitude and commitment in accordance to human dignity, especially toward those in a vulnerable state. This is where the nurse's care is transformed into a transcendent practice, because it is open to the other's perspective, "serving" as a means to achieve happiness.
