Abstract
This research aimed to identify the conceptions and beliefs of Salvadoran teachers who are implementing the Science, Technology and Innovation Approach (STI), in the framework of the National Teacher Training Plan (NTTP) by the Ministry of Education in El Salvador. It was used a qualitative study and an open questionnaire from which data were obtained; subsequently, it was performed a quantitative analysis of frequencies and percentages corresponding to the various categories of ideas collected during this research. Therefore, this is considered as a descriptive study. Results allow us to gain understanding of the breakthrough in teachers’ conceptions about teaching, learning, and assessment with a focus on Science, Technology and Innovation. It is expected that the findings of this investigation become an input for the improvement of the teaching staff in the area of pedagogy and the use of more didactic resources for Science teaching.
