Abstract
The objective of this paper is to determine if there is a correlation between academic stress and school performance in High school students. Additionally, to identify if there are differences in stress according to sex, semester and career; and identify factors of «susceptibility to stress» and «academic context» with higher presence. The study was developed at a technology institute in Aguascalientes (México), with a sample of 179 students. The results show a significant negative correlation between academic stress and school performance, and a higher stress degree in male, third semester and Computer Science students. The most prevalent «susceptibility to stress» and «academic context» factors in students are the search for help in solving problems, self-concept about skills, poor tolerance for frustration, physical condition of the campus, academic requirement, and the feeling of spending more time than necessary to study.
