Abstract
Businesses today rely on global supply chains that must coexist with global political ideologies. As populist ideologies become more prevalent in the twenty-first century, they therefore become a significant influence on modern supply chain management practices. This entry briefly examines and broadly describes how current populist perspectives, particularly for economic protectionism, integrate with today’s supply chain management theories and strategic activities. ©The authors ©Springer Nature.
