Abstract
Vestibular schwannomas (VS) are benign tumors that originate in the Schwann cells and represent 5%–8% of primary intracranial tumors. Although they can manifest in any nerve, there is a strong predilection for sensory nerves, especially the vestibular component of cranial nerve VIII. For this reason, the cerebellopontine angle is the most common location, representing 80%–90% of tumors located in this area.
