Item type:Publication, Justice and Corporate ExcellenceThis book offers a systematic overview of major business ethics topics grounded in neo-Aristotelian virtue ethics and New Natural Law. Its broad approach spans philosophical themes to the most applied topics to promote business relations that respond to justice and responsibility. It presents business ethics as a theory of justice and the common good, offering a structured framework that integrates organizational, commercial, and corporate practices, consistently linked to the pursuit of excellence and human flourishing. This book is useful for philosophy professors who teach business and professional ethics courses, as well as graduate and undergraduate students in these courses. It is relevant to researchers interested in the ethical dimensions of business and management practice, especially those that touch on other management areas like strategy, marketing, or human resource management. ©The authors ©Springer. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, La Escuela de Salamanca según José Barrientos : origen, difusión e impacto intelectual en Europa (Siglos XVI al XVIII)(2020); Moreno Almárcegui, AntonioA diversity of opinions concerning what the School of Salamanca is flourish in contemporary academic literature, and interest in its study has notably increased. This paper offers a systematic analysis of the sixteenth to eighteenth-century authors that Jose Barrientos presents in his work Repertorio de moral económica (1536-1670): La Escuela de Salamanca y su proyección (EUNSA, 2011). A study of the information that Barrientos provides -including years of edition of the different works, the places of publication, variations in the cited authors, the religious orders to which their authors belong and the central themes discussed- aims to show the rise and decline of the School, and its importance for the West's economic and political history. It concludes that the School of Salamanca's efforts were the first attempt to configure specialized and systematic thought about economic and social problems starting from the medieval tradition and up to Renaissance humanism. ©2020 Instituto Teológico de Cáceres, Universidad de Extremadura. Item type:Publication, Salutis enim publicae maxima semper ratio habenda est : Leibniz y la tradición salmantina sobre la moralidad de los segurosLeibniz proposed a natural disaster insurance coordinated by the government. This proposal was aligned with a tradition of political, economic and ethical thought that is grounded in scholastic philosophy and, particularly, in the School of Salamanca. This paper aims to offer a general view of the discussion in late-medieval philosophy regarding insurance; the analysis will point out two troublesome issues: The problem of usury and the problem of divine providence. From this, I will explain some particularities of the Leibnizian proposal on the scope of the late medieval debate by showing its originality and relation with the School of Salamanca. ©2020 Instituto Teologico de Caceres, Universidad de Extremadura.
