    Promoting Gender Equity in Business Schools and Corporate Leadership: A Latin American Perspective

    It is clear that women are regularly demonstrating higher levels of performance, merit and attainment in high school, business school and university contexts. Yet while the current job status and career progression of women in business schools and corporate contexts is improving, the pace of improvement is uneven. For example, the relative scarcity of women deans, lower numbers of women professors and associate professors and far fewer women CEOs/corporate board members indicates the gender imbalance in such roles ©The author ©Routledge.

    From the First Meeting between the currently 12 Intercultural Universities present in the same number of states in Mexico, it was possible to issue a call for young students and graduates of them (From August 5 to September 10, 2021). In order for them to share their experiences on integral education and their community work at the Intercultural University of Chiapas (UNICH) and the Intercultural University of the state of Hidalgo (UIEH) mainly. The instrument was answered by a sample of around 500 young people from 19 different native languages and consisted of 25 questions (18 items closed and 7 open). Greater participation of women stands out. A higher percentage (~45%) choose these universities for the degrees they offer. Three out of ten young people mentioned possible desertion due to economic problems and finally community involvement, the essential activity that should be given greater support in all senses.

    This document establishes the necessity as well as the responsibility of teaching to develop positive attitudes in order to receive and to include change moments related to the human development and the entrance to new student school levels —starting with preschool, basic level: elementary and secondary, and university—, considering human knowledge, as the handle and establishing the relationship with didactics as the state of the art to promote virtues that could be expressed in arrangements.
