    <jats:p>Historically, the construction industry has exhibited slow technological development when compared to other industries. However, during the last several years, investigations related to automation in construction have been conducted, such as additive manufacturing in concrete. This study aims to delve into this topic, providing effective communication between BIM-designed elements and its additive concrete manufacturing, with the help of an articulated robotic arm. Therefore, the paper addresses the preparation of computer code that allows such BIM–robot communication, checking the parameters utilized, and analyzing the results of tests with the equipment involved.</jats:p>

    LEAN CONSTRUCTION EPISTEMOLOGY: HUMAN-CENTERED INSIGHTS FROM PLATO AND ARISTOTLE

    The purpose of this article is to explore how the philosophical ideas of the “Person” and human well-being articulated by the key Greek thinkers, Plato and Aristotle, provide a foundational framework for understanding contemporary approaches to value creation in Lean Construction (LC). By examining Plato’s vision of the human being as oriented toward ideal forms and ethical elevation, alongside Aristotle’s conception of the person as a rational, emotional, and social agent whose flourishing depends on balance and practical wisdom, this study highlights how classical philosophy continues to inform modern notions of comfort, well-being, and ethical practice in the built environment. The article shows how important philosophical concepts, such as Plato’s quest for the ideal good and Aristotle’s emphasis on eudaimonia, harmony, and moral action, align with the tenets of LC, particularly its emphasis on respect for people, ongoing improvement, and the optimization of circumstances to enhance human experience. The primacy of the Human-centered in Lean processes connects with Greek thought, in which well-being, virtue, and correct conduct serve as the basis for any purposeful production. The research provides a conceptual paradigm that integrates Platonic and Aristotelian perspectives on the Person with contemporary management techniques through Lean principles. © 2026, International Group for Lean Construction.     En el siguiente capítulo, referente al Marco Teórico, encontraremos la información relativa al contexto general del trabajo, donde podremos ver un poco mås a detalle en qué consisten cada una de Ias clasificaciones de liderazgo que nos presentan las teorías de Goleman, Maccoby y Reddin. Además algunas circunstancias que envuelven a la industria de la construcción en cuanto a dirección y liderazgo. Una vez teniendo el marco conceptual del proyecto, continuaremos con el capítulo relativo a Medición, en el cual se presentará la herramienta que se utilizó para la realización de las entrevistas, su forma de aplicación y Ios resultados obtenidos. En el capítulo de Análisis se procesan Ios resultados obtenidos y se describen las relaciones entre los diversos factores. Teniendo este capítulo la finalidad de encontrar los principales indicadores que nos señalen la dirección que tomarán los resultados y las conclusiones. Para finalizar, el último capítulo presentará las conclusiones del trabajo, en donde se expondrán de manera sustentada algunos índices importantes encontrados y el perfil, o perfiles, que resulten del análisis.

    Towards a Model That Sees Human Resources as a Key Element for Competitiveness in Construction Management
    <jats:p>The construction industry is continuously affected by external and internal agents that modify and define its competitiveness. Changing markets, currency fluctuations, and tremendous competition have made the issue of competitiveness increasingly important. The literature highlights factors that determine the competitiveness of construction firms, including easy-to-measure elements, such as financial, sales, return on investment, etc., while other elements are not as easily measurable, such as customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, loyalty, and leadership, among many others. Within these factors, Human Resources (HR) has occupied a central place in the last decade, due to the enormous impact that labor has on project execution. This research mainly focuses on the study of HR and its components to reach a deeper understanding of the impact that HR has on the competitiveness of construction companies. After defining the most relevant variables, an interrelationships model was proposed with the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique. These HR variables impact the competitiveness variables: cost, utility, time, quality, Staff retention, and Health &amp; Safety. The PSL analyses met the evaluation criteria using the structural model, confirming its viability. It was found that there are three important variables related to competitiveness: (i) leadership, (ii) innovation, and (iii) competitiveness.</jats:p>
