Abstract
In today's highly competitive world and with demanding customers, one of the main challenges that companies face is to increase and ensure a high level of service to the customer to weaken competition and create loyalty in customers. To ensure a high level of service, companies can increase their inventory levels assuming high costs or optimizing inventories, achieving a balance between both indicators of performance. For Nestlé, one of its main challenges was to increase the level of service by optimizing inventory levels; for this purpose, it was conducted a project of implementation of coverage policies under the CAPDo methodology. With the implementation of the project, the expected goals of reducing inventory levels and improvements in the level of service to the customer were achieved, as well as great economic benefits for the company.
