La inclusión financiera en México

La "Inclusión Financiera" corresponde al acceso y uso de servicios financieros formales para mejorar las capacidades financieras de todos los segmentos de la población, la cual, para términos prácticos se puede identificar con un crecimiento teórico en el número de cuentas bancarias existentes en el Sistema Financiero. Dentro de los componentes fundamentales para la consecución de la "Inclusión Financiera", el acceso a los servicios financieros es considerado actualmente como el de principal relevancia, haciendo referencia a la infraestructura del Sistema Financiero para dar servicio a la población, tales como: sucursales bancarias, cajeros automáticos, terminales punto de venta y adicionalmente puntos de atención de corresponsalías. El presente estudio tiene por objeto el identificar cómo ha reaccionado el número de cuentas bancarias en función de las acciones que el Sistema Financiero ha realizado para crecer la infraestructura de servicio, identificando en un segundo plano los componentes con mayor correlación con el incremento de cuentas. Lo anterior dará como resultado una propuesta para fomentar el (los) canal(es) de mayor impacto para alcanzar de una manera más acelerada los beneficios que se obtienen de la "Inclusión Financiera".

"Financial Inclusion" deals with the access and use of formal financial services to improve financial capabilities of all segments of the population, which for practical purposes can be identified with a theoretical growth in the amount of bank accounts which exist in the financial system. Within the fundamental components for the achievement of "Financial Inclusion", access to financial services is currently considered as the main important, referring to the infrastructure of the financial system to provide service to the population, such as: bank branches, ATMs, point of sale (POS) and additional points of attention of correspondent banks. The present study aims to identify how the number of bank accounts has reacted on the basis of the actions made by the Financial System to make grow the service infrastructure, identifying in the background the components with a greater correlation against the increase of accounts. This will result in a proposal to encourage the channels with the greatest impact to achieve, in a more accelerated way, the benefits that are obtained from "Financial Inclusion".
