Armonía y justicia: dialéctica, pólis y peste

Abstract

La humanidad ha atravesado por diversas pestes a lo largo de la historia. Actualmente atravesamos por una más, Covid-19, y en cada una hay un pretexto para la especulación. Encuentro en Edipo rey de Sófocles un motivo oportuno para unir dos conceptos inevitablemente entrelazados: plagas y pólis. Siempre que una ciudad enferma debe surgir la pregunta por la comunidad y el papel personal en ella. Edipo genera el veneno de Tebas gracias a que no sabía quién era. Ante la ausencia de autoconocimiento cualquier pólis padecerá un sinnúmero de injusticias que le impedirán ejecutar cualquier tipo de melodía social. Amistad, autoconocimiento y justicia son necesarias en el combate a cualquier malestar

Humanity has gone through many pests in its entire history. We are actually going through one more, Covid-19, and in each one of them we can find the perfect pretext for speculation. I fin in Edipus the King from Sophocles a timely motive to put together to ideas inevitably interlocked: plagues and polis. Every time a city gets sick there should emerge the question about the community and the personal role in it. Edipus generates the venom in Thebes thanks to not knowing who he really was. When lacking self-knowledge any polis will suffer countless injustices that will not allow for it to play any social melody. Friendship, self-knowledge and justice are necessary to fight any illness
