Abstract
Sexual harassment is a problem that affects many women around the world and which is little spoken because it is a sensitive issue; however, the reality is that it can trigger psychological and physical problems in people that can even affect their working life. The aim of this research is to know the sexual harassment suffered by women who work as hostess in the restaurants of the area of San Angel of Mexico City, and if such behavior may cause depression and influencing their personal life and work. In order to verify the hypothesis: the harassment suffered by the hostess triggers depression impacting on their quality of life and their job performance, it has been considered a simple of 40 women for this research, who work in 20 restaurants in the area. San Angel area was selected because of its popularity and by the large number of restaurants located in this area. In the development of this paper it was found that sexual harassment causes a negative impact on the personal life of the hostess, causing depression symptoms that are misinter-preted by the victims themselves as short-term sadness or list-lessness in their activities.
