Acción curativa, tecnificación y crisis: hacia una medicina personal

El presente artículo presenta algunas claves para situar a la medicina en referencia a la persona a partir de la antropología trascendental de Leonardo Polo. En la primera parte introduce la situación en la que se encuentra la medicina moderna tomando como ejemplo paradigmático la emergencia sanitaria de importancia internacional declarada en 2020. En un segundo momento, se realiza un diagnóstico a partir de las críticas hacia la excesiva tecnificación y formalización de la ciencia en general, y de la medicina en particular. En la tercera parte, señala las ventajas asociadas al enfoque personal de la medicina para cerrar con un apartado descubre las dualidades antropológicas en torno a la actividad médica como base de un nuevo paradigma médico que ponga al ser personal en el centro. ©Los autores ©Studia Poliana ©Universidad de Navarra.

El trabajo es una lectura del Códice Florentino de Bernardino de Sahagún. Destaca cómo el fraile retoma la tradición retórica y de filosofía moral para obtener diversas estrategias que le permitan recrear el imaginario de los antiguos mexicanos. Se analizan los retos de la evangelización y cómo Sahagún los enfrenta con una tópica particular de relevancia filosófica. Se estudia la composición del Códice y se comenta especialmente el Libro VI. Se subraya el método analógico de Sahagún, así como sus influencias y se pondera la identidad cultural que él instituye a través de su aportación lingüística y hermenéutica.

From the philosophical perspective of education, this article aims to stress the educational ideals of the Mexican indigenous tradition, showing how its emphasis on character education has persisted in speeches and special mnemonic technologies, and to show that the educational ideals of training for fulfi llment are part of human nature itself. Thus, both the ancient idea of the "heart face" of the ancient Mexicans, preserved during the colonial period, and the current concept of the "good life" of the Tzeltal people of Chiapas, conceptualize the integrity of character education and may coincide with the Greek classic ideals which we know from the contributions of Plato and Aristotle in defense of prudential practical knowledge and the virtuous life.

Futuro y transhumanismo: la culminación del proyecto moderno de control racional o el fin de la educación

The absolute trust in the progress of human beings through science and technology not only affects the way in which we conceive the nature of man, but also influences the construction of the future we desire for the generations to come. In that sense, a critique towards the modern project helps to shed light to the possible consequences that scientific and technocratic vision of education could have on young people. Above all, by revisiting the main premises of transhumanism it is possible to elucidate the capacitist and instrumental criterion that seeks to impose itself as the ultimate paradigm of education. That is why it is important to point out how transhumanists propose an educative model that, rather than promoting the cultural and integral growth of children, it promotes an anthropological reductionism, which requires only a functional and successful development of the members of contemporary societies. Therefore, the objective of this article consists, on one hand, in denouncing the transhumanists’ rejection of education, based on a defense of instrumental capacities and, on the other hand, to highlight the importance that a humanistic education provides by enriching the value of human nature. This text is, then rooted in a reassessment of the contemplation of beauty and the search for truth as the goal of man.

Prejudices around disability are so deeply rooted in contemporary societies, especially in the Latin American context, that it is necessary to reflect on the roots of this phenomenon. Thus, delving into the eugenic projects of the last century, in relation to the new contemporary forms of eugenics, allows us to understand what a functional and capacitive conception has caused in the notion that we currently have of human nature. Moreover, when behind these projects there is an instrumental and individualistic defense that ignores the relational and social character of human beings. This article insists on the need to look again at the social model of disability to understand that it occurs when of personal limitations meet social barriers. © 2022, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. En este trabajo se expone el género-sujeto de las obras zoológicas mayores de Aristóteles (Historia Animalium, De Partibus Animalium y De Generatione Animalium), a saber, las partes homogéneas y las heterogéneas, así como su relación mutua, y no las “esencias” inamovibles de los animales. Las partes de los animales son el género-sujeto y primer criterio de ordenación de los libros y capítulos de las obras zoológicas aristotélicas. El estudio de la naturaleza y del tò tí en eînai corresponde a la filosofía de la naturaleza y a la metafísica.

Se aborda la manera en que la definición del término “pueblo indígena” presenta una ambigüedad llamativa y eso genera diversas implicaciones políticas, jurídicas y culturales a lo largo de todo el territorio mexicano. Desde ahí se puede hacer difícil garantizar los derechos humanos de los pueblos concretos, en especial el derecho a la autonomía y la autodeterminación. Por ello, a partir de pensadores que han reflexionado sobre nuestro país, tanto como otros autores de tradición comunitarista o liberal, este texto explora el desafío que implica fundamentar suficientemente el reconocimiento jurídico a las comunidades, entidades políticas legítimas que poseen derechos específicos. En ese sentido, el objetivo principal del artículo es contribuir a esclarecer el concepto de pueblo indígena dentro de un debate filosófico contemporáneo, promoviendo una justicia intercultural que garantice los derechos de los pueblos originarios en México.

La comunalidad indígena como respuesta al individualismo moderno

The objective of this article is to show how, although contemporary individualism has fragmented social bonds in such a way that it seems impossible to speak of communities, the study of indigenous communalities shows how it is possible to conceive a society where the common good is the main factor to compensate for the union between individuals even in liberal capitalist societies. It will be argued that, since modernity, the rise of the individual laid the foundations for the way we conceive social relations; however, the indigenous proposal shows us that there are other non-hegemonic paths that can help us understand subjects as interdependent beings in tune with the natural world.
