The technological revolution, capital and institutions do not make the difference, it is the way the people integrate all these element to convert misfortunes into opportunities. Distinct theoretical points of view look to focus the accent on the employee, proposing structures that serve as a detonator for the initiative of the worker; thus, the person becomes the center and builder of his own growth. In this way the worker acquires security in what he knows and can do, this then permits him to go to other jobs with increased margins of opportunity For this, "empowerment" (to permit the employee, according to his field of action, to take decisions within the company) results in a viable alternative for the organizations. The accumulated knowledge of the employee acquires great importance as does his relationship with other distinct members within the organization thus the knowledge acquires mobility achieving the employee's own development and, with it, that of the company For empowerment to be converted in a strategy of organizational development: the ideological heart of the institution (mission, vision, values and objectives) and the organizational structure must be known and shared with all the members of the company.
