    El Poder y la naturaleza política: el caso del Covid-19
    (Universidad Panamericana, 2024-06-29)
    Juan Francisco Montalvo Cantú
    El artículo reflexiona sobre la naturaleza política del hombre y su relación con el poder político en algunas de sus diferentes facetas, ubicándose en el contexto de la pandemia de Covid-19, las medidas sanitarias que se tomaron, y el posterior retorno a la “nueva normalidad” para señalar cómo, a pesar de los intentos del poder objetivado por expandirse, la libertad humana siempre resurge limitando los avances del control político. Se argumenta que el ser humano es intrínsecamente político, buscando vivir en comunidad y desarrollarse plenamente en ella. Basado en Byung-Chul Han, José Antonio Marina y Michel Foucault, se define el poder como la capacidad de convertir proyectos individuales o colectivos en realidad, mientras que el poder objetivado (concepto tomado de Bertrand de Jouvenel, denominado por este como “Poder”) se presenta como una entidad autónoma que busca expandirse y perpetuarse a través del aparato de gobierno. Se introduce el concepto foucaultiano de biopoder, como la capacidad del poder para controlar y regular los cuerpos individuales y la población en su conjunto. Se discute por qué el poder objetivado renunció al control total sobre los cuerpos durante la pandemia, argumentando que la naturaleza política del hombre y la resistencia a las medidas extremas de control, junto con las repercusiones económicas negativas y el descontento popular, llevaron a este a retractarse. Se advierte sobre la posibilidad de que el poder objetivado busque establecer formas más sutiles, pero igualmente efectivas de control en el futuro, aprovechando la falta de conciencia política de la población.

    Instructional Design for virtual courses for university teachers affected by COVID-19
    (IEEE, 2020) ; ;
    Ana Fabiola Mora López
    ;
    de la Serna, Andrés Saúl
    Due to the 2020 scenario, the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus prompted a substantial change in the methods used by teachers when teaching and implementing their classes. As a support mechanism for teachers in the face of the radical change from physical presence to virtual presence, two courses were designed by the School of Pedagogy of the Universidad Panamericana: the first on Instructional Design and the second on didactic tools that enhance interaction and revitalization of classes. The summer of 2020 was the ideal time to train and prepare teachers in the instructional design of online classes because, although the educational model of the university is face-to-face, the circumstances and health limitations forced a strategic change to carry on with the quality that characterizes the institution. The preliminary results that we analyze with the SPSS software indicate that for 89.4% of the teachers the content of the course contributed to their professional development and that 87.9% have sufficient elements to redesign their subject for the following semester, which is executed in virtual mode.

    Condiciones, voces y percepciones de jóvenes de la UPN, durante la pandemia por COVID-19
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2021-12-31)
    Rodríguez Calderón de la Barca, Diego
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    The objective of this work is aimed at knowing and describing the social and technological conditions and inequalities, as well as some of the educational and emotional experiences of the young people of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Unidad 153, Ecatepec, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis starts from a structuralist constructivist perspective of Pierre Bourdieu and a mixed methodology based on a non-probabilistic sample for convenience and semistructured interviews. The implications of studying the degree in a non-face-to-face way, the material conditions and the perceptions of the students during confinement were analyzed. The results show that a large percentage of those surveyed have thought about abandoning their studies, given that the distance modality has been linked to other activities such as domestic activities and caring for relatives, as well as the lack of technological capital, income and the prevailing need to work, assuming different roles, in addition to that of students. On the other hand, the text highlights that studying at home had an influence on widening the inequality gaps as not everyone had the same tools and services; however, it triggered other learnings related to the use of educational platforms and contributed to building greater autonomy in learning. Therefore, this work exposes the different difficulties, inequalities, perceptions and emotional affectations that this student community faced, but also highlights the exercise of their autonomy around other learning that contributes to their professional training.

    Del aula presencial a la remota y de regreso : la enseñanza en situaciones de pandemia e incertidumbre
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2021-02-02) ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus brought important changes for many educational models. Face-to-face classes had to move to virtual environments abruptly and unexpectedly. The objective of this article is to present a discussion about one of the greatest challenges that educational systems have to confront in contexts such as the present: the uncertainty generated by the change from face-to-face to remote teaching and vice-versa. To achieve the objective, 1) I show how the change from face-to-face to remote classes in digital environments causes a problem at the level of the planning and design of courses and a specific challenges for teaching; and 2) I offer the outline of a proposal to face this type of situation using the ADDIE model of instructional design and considering some specific tea-ching competences. Finally, I offer some final reflections on the challenges that the pandemic has generated for pedagogy and educational systems

    Garcia Hiljding, Isabel
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Comunicación
    March 2020 changed the history of the world. And it also changed the fashion luxury industry. A virus attacked the whole world, whole nations were in look down and time stopped. This study’s aim is to examine how the brands used their podcasts as a marketing tool during the periods of pre-COVID and post-COVID. The four selected fashion luxury brands were: Chanel, Hermés, Dior and Gucci. Additionally, this study also aims to identify the frames, the longevity, the duration, related media and the language used and to compare them before march 2020 and after in order to understand how the podcasts are becoming a successful strategic marketing tool for luxury brands and if these brands have changed and modified their content due to the pandemic. In conclusion of the study and after analyzing the four podcasts of the world’s leading fashion luxury brands, it can be said that we have not detected significant changes in the way the podcast is managed by the brands or the content broadcasted, between pre- and post-COVID episodes.

    The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered significant trans-formations in the processes of production, exchange and consumption of media content, driven by the desire of contemporary networked society to communicate, in-form and entertain in the midst of a turbulent health and humanitarian moment. In this scenario, YouTube has become the preferred vehicle for video dissemina-tion and consumption. Among the aesthetics available on this platform, this exploratory study focuses its reflec-tions on pandemic productions that relied on 360-de-gree technology, an emerging image modality. Guided by a methodological path formed by a bibliographic review and netnography, the research covered a survey of 400 spherical videos, which were analysed through cartographic, technical and thematic particularities. For this purpose, expressions in Portuguese and Spanish re-lated to 360-degree videos and COVID-19 were entered into the YouTube search system. The results provided an overview of how the pandemic phenomenon influenced the creative sector of 360-degree narratives, highlight-ing, for example, Brazil as the country with the highest number of published works, the virtual tour as the most explored format and the prominence of companies and professionals specialised in content creation, while press vehicles appeared timidly

    Se plantea detalladamente el estado de la cuestión que presenta la industria del cine en España en sus ámbitos específicos de producción, distribución y exhibición. El autor desarrolla pormenorizadamente la situación del cine en España, y a continuación también la situación de la televisión en su vertiente estrechamente relacionada con el cine. Posteriormente se reproducen algunas entrevistas realizadas a los protagonistas más representativos de la industria del cine, personificados en productores, distribuidores y exhibidores. El trabajo remite más adelante a referencias muy numerosas publicadas en el portal CineyTele.com sobre pandemia y postpandemia tanto en el ámbito español como iberoamericano en su conjunto, finalizando con una bibliografía básica sobre la temática desarrollada.

    Nuevos hábitos, prácticas, modos de apropiación y rituales de consumo de películas mexicanas en tiempos de pandemia : un estudio de caso en Monterrey, Nuevo León
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Comunicación, 2022)

    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Comunicación
    The general objective of this research was to identify and analyze the habits, practices, modes of appropria-tion and consumption rituals of Mexican films of the inhabitants of the Monterrey metropolitan area who remained in seclusion due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in a context of massive closure of movie theaters due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic and, para-doxically, in the face of a growing new golden age for Mexican cinema. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach; it is an exploratory study in which the in-depth interview technique was used. The sample consisted of 43 volunteer subjects, homebound adults, of both sexes and ranging in age from 41 to 86 years old. The results show that the change was more signifi-cant among older adults, who mentioned that going to movie theaters meant a lot to them, since, along with attending casinos, they were their only distractions be-fore the pandemic, although they also mentioned that they are now getting used to watching movies on TV via streaming platforms, particularly Netflix, although they feel they have not mastered the technology for their en-joyment. Regarding the consumption of Mexican films, older adults do not like new films very much, they still prefer those of the Golden Age of the last century and, although they mentioned that in those they have seen recently they observe that in some way they represent the reality of our country, they said that because of their subject matter they consider that they are aimed at a younger audience.

    La función social del cine en tiempos de pandemia
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Comunicación, 2022)
    García Benítez, Carlos
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Comunicación
    This paper proposes a series of reflections on cinema and how it was reconfigured during the Covid-19 pandemic in our country. Cinema, as an industry, brings together several spheres, among the most important of which are production, distribution and exhibition. In the latter, audiences play an important role. Since cinema first appeared, it has never ceased to amaze us with the different social functions it has fulfilled for audiences. However, with the arrival of the coronavirus, during the confinement, other functions seemed to reveal them-selves, in this text we propose some of them, in the in-terest of helping to think about cinema as a dynamic, vigorous communication phenomenon in the context of the pandemic and in the face of the so-called new normality.

    Introducción al estudio del Audiovisual: una experiencia de enseñanza innovadora en el contexto de la pandemia en el Uruguay
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Comunicación, 2021-06-01)
    Parentelli, Varenka
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Comunicación
    La pandemia obligó a los actores educativos a transformar sus prácticas para adecuarlas al contexto. Una ventaja de la Universidad de la República es que ya tenía un camino consolidado respecto a la incorporación del Entorno Virtual de Aprendizaje (EVA). No obstante, su uso aún es considerado como “un repositorio de apoyo a la enseñanza presencial” y la educación a distancia implica el desarrollo de estrategias pedagógicas con dimensiones y abordajes específicos que dan lugar a transformaciones de los procesos. Es posible que hayan existido prácticas de enseñanza realmente en línea con el uso del EVA o bien que se hayan desarrollado cursos a distancias “exitosos” tras la incorporación de innovaciones educativas. Introducción al estudio del lenguaje audiovisual es una unidad curricular del primer año de la Licenciatura en Comunicación con una matrícula de más de 1500 estudiantes. Durante la pandemia propuso una modalidad de aula invertida que se centró en el proceso de los estudiantes a través de: la diversificación de recursos didácticos, contenidos y actividades; la incorporación de instancias de intercambios; y el cambio del rol docente y del estudiante. Estos aspectos innovadores, no reducidos al uso del EVA, suponen una modificación en la organización del curso y en lo didáctico. Esto permitió una mejor vinculación docente – estudiante – contenidos y un mayor porcentaje de aprobaciones. Este artículo presenta una experiencia innovadora con resultados positivos relevantes en tiempos de pandemia, en el cual participan aspectos socio-económicos que condicionan y complejizan aún más las características particulares de los contextos educativos.
