The article has the objective of reconstructing the different conceptualizations about the knowledge of work in Argentina, in recent times. The methodological design adopted is of a qualitative-descriptive type that develops a bibliographic and documentary review, aimed at finding relationships and meanings between different conceptual and legislative contributions on the subject, from the 1990s to the present. The conclusions indicate that the idea of knowledge for work is not neutral, rather, it implies understanding it in connection with social, political and economic dimensions, within the framework of certain education models.

El docente y su percepción de las competencias socioemocionales en su labor
(Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2023)

The objective of this article was to explore the socio-emotional competence of the teacher, from basic secondary school, from his perceptions, in the interaction with the students and in the exercise of his work. The research was qualitative, interpretive and comprehensive; which allowed giving the leading role to the teacher, so that his voice, from his experience, could be heard. Socio-emotional competencies were approached from the analysis of emotional awareness, emotional regulation, emotional autonomy, social competence, for life and well-being. It was concluded that educators consider that their socio-emotional skills are necessary in interactions with students and that they require more preparation to solve situations that go beyond academics. Educational authorities are recommended to train educators in these skills, based on the realities of each context.

The essay describes a proposal for the development of competences with a humanist approach that considers programs for training teachers of all educational levels, since they are necessary to face today’s constant change in all aspects of life. The argument departs within the framework set in Unesco´s Delors report (1996), on Education for the Twenty First Century, based on the four pillars of learning, emphasizing the following types of knowledge: Learning to know, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together. A blueprint for educational reform indispensable for humanity to progress towards the ideals of peace, freedom and social justice.
