    La gestión como proceso de mejora de la convivencia escolar. Experiencia de un centro educativo en la nueva región de ñuble en Chile
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2023)
    Cisternas Muñoz, Rodrigo
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    This research describes in an intensive and rigorous manner how coexistence management processes are carried out in the educational center Instituto Santa María in San Carlos, Chile. A mixed methodological research approach has been proposed, using a parallel/simultaneous equivalent status design. The techniques used to obtain information were validated questionnaires given to students, teachers and families, interviews with the management team, provincial education authorities and discussion groups with students and teachers. It is concluded that the main manager of coexistence is the teacher, the lack of a coexistence program to develop it in a transversal way in the center is identified, since there are no structured formative processes, there are no preventive activities and reactive actions prevail when difficulties and conflicts that alter coexistence arise.

    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    The conception, design, and construction of classroom space in education has under-gone transformations throughout history; it has moved from a traditional space in which functionality, sunlight, ventilation, and scale were privileged, to another design under the COVID-19 context in which priority is given to flexibility, recalculation of capacity, air circulation and open spaces. The objective of this research is to conduct a systematic literature review that contemplates empirical research on classroom space configuration in education during the period from 2015 to 2021. The following were considered as inclusion criteria: articles addressing the topic of the classroom space for learning; publications between 2015-2021 and conducted in the context of Ibero America. The open access databases SCIELO, REDALYC and search engines such as INVENTIO were used. In total, a database of 111 articles was compiled, from which 18 selected articles were filtered based on the inclusion criteria. The results were analyzed based on the content analysis strategy. Eight of the research were identified from Spain, 3 from Mexico, 3 from Colombia, 1 from Peru, 1 from Ecuador, 1 from Venezuela and 1 from Panama. It is concluded that there is a need to create classroom spaces that meet the criteria of limited capacity and ventilation for the COVID-19 context without neglecting the use of strategies that promote collaborative learning.

    El concepto de educación en en la filosofía de Leonardo Polo: «Ayudar a crecer»
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2021-12-01)
    León-Parodi, Joaquín
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    Leonardo Polo’s Transcendental Anthropology could be a substantial contribution to the foundation of «Education», that’s why it is pertinent to broaden its study and use it in the philosophy of education. Polo’s anthropology distinguishes in man a triple dimension: a) the human nature, composed of the body and the soul –with its faculties of intelligence and will– in a natural state; b) the human essence, consisting of the perfections acquired in nature –habits of the intelligence and virtues of the will– from the act of being through the innate habit of synderesis (the modern self); c) the personal act of being, composed by free coexistence, personal knowing and personal loving. Approaching issues of philosophy of education, Polo defines the educational task as «helping to grow», a notion he acquires from the Spanish edu-cator Tomás Alvira. Through a bibliographical review of Polo’s anthropological work, this concept of education is explored in depth. Analyzing the Polian writings, it is concluded that education must be developed from the person, because in this way, each man –unique and unrepeatable–, with the guidance and help of his educators, will be able to fulfill his intimate mission and grow in an unrestricted way in habits of the intelligence and virtues of the will.

    Entre la virtud y el utilitarismo: una aproximación a la educación moral
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2021-10-31)
    Sánchez Pérez, Yaiza
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    Reflection on issues related to moral education, not only in its theoretical conception, but in its implementation within the classroom, is essential for the right exercise of the teaching profession. For this reason, the contributions made by Aristotle and John Stuart Mill to moral education are analyzed to build a pedagogical reflection that facilitates the understanding of the moral development of students in the current educational context. From a philosophical perspective, an analytical method is used based on the study of the postulates of the ethics of virtue and utilitarianism; specifically on issues related to the moral development of subjects, happiness, or the importance of reasoning in the face of moral conflicts to understand what contributions can be applied to current education. The main conclusions drawn after the study are the importance of critically reflecting in schools on concepts such as prudence, virtue, happiness, or citizenship; as well as the richness that the incorporation of con-cepts such as virtue brings to the educational debate. In addition, developing virtues in the student body will allow them to know the good, wish it and practice it.

    During the process of learning a second language various circumstances can be obser-ved among which motivation, interest or disinterest, stress, anguish that have an impact on the acquisition of knowledge, which are manifested in an attitude which can be positive or negative. Affectivity in the educational field can minimize these situations that prevent the student from engaging with greater enthusiasm towards their academic work in the case of a second language, it can contribute to an integral formation. In this case, this paperwork presents a theoretical review about affectivity involved in a second language in university students as human beings who require time to feel integrated into a work environment, as well as they need an impulse to be guided with patience and security in order to generate situations of trust to develop more fluent communicative interactions with their peers.

    Los fines de la educación en la «Pedagogía estructurativa» de José Vasconcelos
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2021-07-03)
    Macías Barba, María del Pilar
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    A century after the founding of the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico, it is appro-priate to return to the educational approach of its founder, José Vasconcelos, to identify the congruence and greatness of its civilizing purpose based on instruction, work, culture, and art—a truly comprehensive educational project. The purpose of this article is to present the concept of education that underlies the Pedagogía Estructurativa of José Vasconcelos and to propose five aims of education that arise from it and that keep a harmonious, hierarchi-cal, and systemic relationship. This proposal is the result of the selection, organization, and analysis of Vasconcelos’s work and mainly of the analysis of his book De Robinsón a Odiseo: Pedagogía Estructurativa. This article is divided into three parts. The first part integrates the concept of education. The second part identifies the educable areas or dimensions of the per-son. The third part proposes the classification of the five aims of education of Vasconcelo’s thought, namely physical, professional, intellectual, ethical, and aesthetic education. Each educational level presupposes and complements the previous one, achieving a transcen-dental individual development while attending to the spiritual and material well-being of the community. Thus the value of Vasconcelos’s humanist ideology is shown. Vasconcelos conferred his humanism on the Ministry of Public Education while conveying his passion for the spiritual regeneration of Mexicans through the fight against «ignorance and misery, our true enemies» (Vasconcelos, 1920a, p. 52).

    La pedagogía de Emile Durkheim
    (Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Pedagogía, 2020-07-02)
    Carmona Sánchez, Luis Alberto
    ;
    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    The article seeks to expose the pedagogical approach contributed by the French David Emilie Durkheim (1958-1917), from the sociology of education, to make effective the project that the French Third Republic had to forge on the new society and the new social being that he intended. For this purpose, the conceptual foundations that shape the author’s sociological approach to pedagogy and education are examined, as well as its relationship with the unified theoretical-practical project of a new society and new social being, which is presented in four aspects. : I. The context: definition and the Third French Republic; II. The condition: pedagogy; III. The means: education; IV. The purpose of pedagogy: the society. The article provides a theoretical and interpretative review of Durkheim’s contribution to the field of sociology of education, highlighting the political connotation that his ideas contained in this field, and the methodological teaching considered current, which suggests the theoretical and practical development of pedagogy, first of all by understanding the social dynamics and the particular moral demands of each society rather than the nonconceptual and ahistorical importation of inflexible pedagogical models

    The essay describes a proposal for the development of competences with a humanist approach that considers programs for training teachers of all educational levels, since they are necessary to face today’s constant change in all aspects of life. The argument departs within the framework set in Unesco´s Delors report (1996), on Education for the Twenty First Century, based on the four pillars of learning, emphasizing the following types of knowledge: Learning to know, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together. A blueprint for educational reform indispensable for humanity to progress towards the ideals of peace, freedom and social justice.
