Escuela de PedagogíaThe true student and the true teacher share the challenge of growing to achieve an authentically human life. In this sense, the representation of the teacher in the Nahuatl conception is remarkable, summarised in the representation of the wise man, ultimate aspiration and always developing of whoever wishes to teach to configure, within the person, a face and a heart. The well being and well-doing are the result of the persevering and firm exercise of the will and the intelligence, translated in the living of good practice that demand, of course —more than anti-plagiarism measures—, to develop intellectual honesty. The essential labor of an educator is to guide the student in the work of discovering and keeping a face and a heart: the building of personal integrity to perform a dignified life, exemplary work, and a positive influence. In the quest to create better ways of learning that are deep and creative within the educational ecosystem that is the classroom, an element that can seem surprising but in no way excessive: the joy, indispensable note of the teacher that loves what they do and transmits it, placing the student on the path to professional prestige and personal happiness.6 214 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Escuela de PedagogíaThis work explores the processes of self-evaluation and selfregulation of teaching practice among four university professors. We have been interested in identifying the mechanisms through which these professionals analyze and value their performance as well as the strategies they deploy trying to improve it. The research examines the beliefs and knowledge teachers have about the institutional evaluation of teacher performance and its implications on the phenomena of selfregulation and decision-making. The approach is based on the mediation paradigm focused on teacher thinking and develops a case study with academic staff participating in a Master’s in Education program. It was found that teachers face a wide range of situations and problems against which they practice complex and pressing decision-making, which does not always lead to the optimization of their daily work.4 87 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Escuela de PedagogíaThe Mexican school system has defined as one of the four functions for the last three years of compulsory education (15-18 years) citizenship education. From this imperative, we discuss theoretical notions of citizenship. Depredating development that creates inequalities at all levels is questioned. Citizenship is discussed within the framework of the relationship between well-being and development. The International Convention of the Rights of the Child (UN, 1989) is taken up in the context of the actual organization of educational institutions and prescribed curriculum, pointing out obstacles to make children’s rights a daily practice. The proposed new programs are analyzed contrasting them with the general goals and functions as stated by the educational authority. We discuss possibilities for citizenship education for the next generations in schools from a global perspective and conclude this first part with a proposal for citizenship education. In the second part we take up the need to see citizenship education as a means to build up peace with equity and ethics, from a key perspective in our times ¿what consequences do the ongoing technological revolutions in our times have for the last years of high school and citizenship education? A quick presentation is done of three elements that could enrich the actual programs for high school: a) nonviolence to build up a culture and education for peace applied to the social context of schools; b) equity in education and, c) digital ethics and academic-professional integrity.8 78 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de PedagogíaIn the academic field, motivational and emotional aspects are fundamental for self-regulation of learning and better academic performance. However, research about how students acquire and use the strategies that are included in these processes, and how they transfer them to academic contexts is scare. Specifically, strengthening volitional strategies in the classroom to maintain persistence and regulate effort can facilitate self-regulated achievement. The methodological design was stablished as hermeneutical phenomenological. Escuela de PedagogíaThe Greek notion of the pedagogue as the student´s mentor or guide relates to certain descriptive elements of the tlamatini —or wise-man—, among the ancient Nahuas. However, in ancient Mexico, the essence of the classical accompaniment between student and teacher transcended the mere notion of taking children to school, despite the genuinely educational nature of the relationship. The ancient Nahuas developed a systematic model of accompaniment that took place in the domestic fields (inside the house) until the moment when students entered the teaching houses. Such an accompaniment took place in the bosom of the family or cenyeliztli, understood as an intimate totality (or, strictly speaking, economic totality).13 80 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Escuela de PedagogíaPublic policy points to an evaluation process with a formative nature, but there is not enough research in this regard and therefore, the objective of the study was to describe the experience of reflection in the framework of the development of the portfolio of pedagogical performance (PDP) in teachers of public establishments in the commune of Santiago, Chile. The study was interpretive, particularly a case study, in which teachers selected by intentional sampling participated. Semi-structured interviews were developed, which were subjected to a content analysis. The results show impeding conditions for personal and institutional reflection. Less facilitating conditions for reflection were identified and it is concluded that there are more conditions that limit reflection and also, it could be noted that the formative function of this teaching evaluation is not fulfilled.7 151 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Two instruments were applied, APGAR and DUKE-UNC-11, they show the perception about social support and family function. The results indicate that students with and without outstanding skills perceive, for the most part; nomofuntional families and very few with family dysfunction. However, some differences in functional social support and poor support are identified due to the characteristics of the study population.9 323
