    Universidad Panamericana. Campus Ciudad de México. Escuela de Pedagogía
    This article presents the results of the application of the David Mersey, Calder and Mal-thouse digital media engagement scale, which measures the different types of experiences that a person has when consuming digital platforms. This instrument was used to measure consumer experiences with Netflix of 630 young Mexican university students, among which were relevant experiences that satisfy educational experiences among this study group. In the second phase of this study, 8 focus groups were conducted (46 students in total), in which it was corroborated that this platform satisfies needs beyond entertainment. In summary, students also use Netflix to learn, particularly to learn how different types of cultures are re-presented, to obtain more knowledge and context on topics of their interest and to reflect on human situations that are represented in the contents of the platform, and even use content from this OTT as a resource and educational complement.

    Ciberacoso desde la perspectiva docente
    (2020)
    Isabel Pavez
    ;

    Génesis de trayectorias académicas: itinerarios de profesores universitarios estudiantes de doctorado
    (Universidad ORT Uruguay, 2024-01-30) ;
    El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar las trayectorias académicas de profesores universitarios que estudian un doctorado y que forman parte del cuerpo docente de tiempo completo en una institución de educación superior en la República Mexicana, con miras a favorecer una mejor comprensión de los procesos de transformación de la institución universitaria. Para realizar este estudio, se optó por un enfoque cualitativo con perspectiva fenomenológica basada en la teoría fundamentada; se utilizaron narrativas escritas desarrolladas por los profesores participantes en este estudio. Dentro de los hallazgos más relevantes, se encontró diversidad en cuanto a la génesis de la vocación académica y su consecuente trayectoria, puesto que se identificaron al menos dos tendencias: las originadas en la práctica profesional específica y las nacidas en el contexto universitario, jugando un papel importante, en unas y en otras, las condiciones institucionales de la universidad a la que pertenecen los profesores estudiantes de doctorado. Resulta también llamativo que la determinación de convertirse en académico puede suceder al inicio de la vida profesional o ya una vez experimentados otros campos de trabajo, lo cual tiene relación con el campo del saber de los estudios de pregrado, determinando que profesores que estudiaron filosofía accedieron de manera más pronta y natural al ámbito académico, lo que resulta distinto en otras profesiones que requirieron antes de involucrarse en la academia de experimentar trabajos en el ámbito profesional específico.

Participants from the three countries were recruited via online social media networks and were asked to fill in an online survey. A questionnaire, which has been adapted from previous literature to suit the mobile advertising context and the population of interest, was designed. Cross-country samples of varying sizes, with a predetermined quota of 200 participants for each country, were used. Parents with an authoritative style were identified to have more knowledge than those with an indulgent style. Differences were also identified between countries concerning the amount of exposure that children have to mobile advertising, while no significant differences were found in the moral dimension.
Practical implications
Marketing practitioners and public policymakers must consider that parents differ in some dimensions of AL.

    Digital Tools for virtual courses for university teachers affected by COVID-19

    Due to the 2020 scenario, the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus prompted a substantial change in the methods used by teachers when teaching and implementing their classes. As a support mechanism for teachers in the face of the radical change from physical presence to virtual presence, two courses were designed by the School of Pedagogy of the Universidad Panamericana: the first on Instructional Design and the second on didactic tools that enhance interaction and revitalization of classes. The summer of 2020 was the ideal time to train and prepare teachers in the instructional design of online classes because, although the educational model of the university is face-to-face, the circumstances and health limitations forced a strategic change to carry on with the quality that characterizes the institution. The preliminary results that we analyze with the SPSS software indicate that for 90.5% of the teachers the content of the course contributed to their professional development and that 87.2% have sufficient elements to redesign their subject for the following semester, which is executed in virtual mode.
