Item type:Publication, Determination of the Representative Socioeconomic Level by BSA in the Mexican Republic(CEIPA Business School, 2018); ;Macedo Ruiz Edith Cecilia; The aim of this article is to determine the socioeconomic level (SEL) with disaggregation of the Basic Statistical Area (BSA) in the Mexican Republic. The methodology used is the one established by the Mexican Association of Market Research Agencies (AMAI) along with the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The Clustering of the BSAs was carried out according to variables contained in the Population and Housing Census of 2010, through Gaussian mixture models, learning neural networks and finally, by defining the labels corresponding to each SEL. We found the existence of a representative SEL for each BSA. In addition, the definition of each socioeconomic level shows good results with an average of 90.86% of correctly labeled elements.23 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Business Performance and Sustainability Outcomes Driven by Circular Economy, Eco-Innovation, and Sustainable Marketing
Sustainable practices are increasingly recognized as critical drivers of business performance in contemporary markets. This study examines the influence of Circular Economy (CE), Eco-Innovation (EI), and Sustainable Marketing (SM) on Business Performance (BP) among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) located in Aguascalientes, Mexico, a representative emerging-economy context within Latin America. The relationships among these constructs were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS 4.0. Results show that CE significantly drives both EI and SM, and that EI positively influences BP. However, the direct effect of SM on BP was marginal, indicating that its contribution to business performance is weaker than that of circular and eco-innovative practices in the analyzed sample. Among CE dimensions, enablers were the strongest driver of circular adoption, while in EI, adoption incentives exerted the greatest influence. This research contributes to the sustainability and management literature by rigorously analyzing and comparing the relative impact of different sustainability-oriented strategies—circular, innovative, and marketing-based—on business performance. By examining how these strategies interact and differ in their effects, the study offers evidence-based guidance for MSMEs with limited resources to prioritize initiatives with greater potential to enhance competitiveness. The proposed integrated CE–EI–SM–BP framework, validated through a predictive PLS-SEM approach (PLSpredict), provides robust empirical evidence from an underexplored emerging-economy context. The results also open avenues for future research to examine contextual or temporal factors influencing the effectiveness of sustainability-based strategies.
14 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, El papel de las TIC, intraemprendimiento y redes de gestión colaborativa en la innovación y la competitividad empresarial(Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador, 2025-04-01); ;Gabriel Purón-Cid
This research analyzes the relationship between intrapreneurship culture, management collaboration networks, and information and communication technologies on innovation performance, as well as their direct and indirect effects on business performance and competitiveness. Using data from MSMEs in Mexico's trade sector, the study tests fifteen hypotheses across three models, each examining the impact of a causal variable on innovation performance through a quantitative analysis using structural equation modeling. The results indicate significant associations between these factors and highlight the role of innovation in enhancing business outcomes. Additionally, the study considers the profound effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has exacerbated existing vulnerabilities in Latin American and Caribbean economies, affecting key sectors such as commerce, tourism, and transportation. The conclusions emphasize the varying impact of direct and indirect effects of causal variables (intrapreneurship culture, management collaboration networks, and information and communication technologies) on the mediator variable (innovation performance) and outcome variables (business performance and competitiveness). Across all models, a positive and significant relationship is confirmed between innovation performance and both business performance and competitiveness. However, a stronger association is found between the causal variables and business performance and competitiveness. Based on these findings, the study proposes strategic recommendations for businesses aiming to enhance their performance and competitiveness in dynamic environments.
14 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, It Is Not Enough: The Moderation Effect of Entrepreneurship Education in Mexican University Students(2024); ;Sandra Yesenia Pinzon Castro ;Alejandro Cheyne-GarciaAraceli Alvarado-Carrillo
Understanding the impact of entrepreneurship education on the entrepreneurial cognition of university students is relevant to finding ways to foster entrepreneurship that boost the economy in developing countries. The objective of this study is to determine the influence of personal attitude, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms on entrepreneurial intention, and to discover if there exists a moderation effect of entrepreneurship education on the abovementioned aspects. We collected 343 questionnaires of students of the Center for Administrative and Economic Sciences of a Mexican university. We used structural equations through the method of partial minimum squares, and, to test the hypothesis, we used the Smart-PLS 3.0 software. The results indicate that entrepreneurship education does not have a significant moderation effect on the relationship between personal attitude on entrepreneurial intention and perceived behavioral control on entrepreneurial intention. However, there exists a significant and positive influence of personal attitude on entrepreneurial intention and perceived behavioral control on entrepreneurial intention. We conclude that current entrepreneurship education has the opportunity to create impactful outcomes because the theory is easy, but entrepreneurship in reality is hard and requires more effort. We recommend including a wider view with external resources like lectures of experts from the entrepreneurial ecosystem and support from government and potential investors, among other approaches.
13
